This uniquely designed CMOS USB camera is very simple to use and will fit on most any microscope that has an exterior ocular tube dimensions between 25-33mm. It simply fits over the existing eyepiece on your compound or stereo microscope, converting it to a digital microscope with the pre-attached cabling. We are recommending this coupler for the Nikon Coolpix Cameras based upon tests made. To install is simple, you remove your existing eyepiece and insert the coupler into your ocular tube and then attach your digital camera.This also works on trinocular ports of most any microscope.
The adapter is very simple to use and works with any microscope where there is a 23mm or 30mm eye tube. In addition it is compatible with all standard 1x c -mounts with the 30mm spacer in place. You simply thread the lens end of the adapter on to the digital camera and fit the other end to the microscope eye tube in place of the eyepiece. The Steindorff digital microscopy cameras are low lux .028 and ideal for most any application including brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, DIC and fluorescence. They allow for live video viewing on your computer or laptop at up to 30 frames per second via a USB 2.0 connection. The cameras are Direct Show and TWAIN compliant compatible. The software package is user friendly and allows for superior camera controls and features. With the optional VTB (Video Tool Box) Control the camera can be communicated with other software and can be custom programed to the users specifications.
They easily attach to the microscope via a standard C mount connection. There are no other adapters or cables required. The Steindorff CFW-1300 Series is an 8-bit FIREWIRE digital camera designed for a variety of microscopic imaging applications. There are two models available, one in color the other momochrome. Each camera features 1.4 Mpixels (1360 x 1024 resolution) that are well suited for bright-field, dark field, and fluorescence imaging situations. Technology is based on a Sony ICX250 CCD ½ " sensor with a frame rate of 7.5 frames per second and 30 fps in preview mode. Operation of this camera is simple, just plug into the FIREWIRE port on your computer and install the software. All the necessary cabling and software is included for both Windows and Mac, OS X platforms. Included with the camera is software that provides full capability for acquiring and saving images in TIFF AND BMP formats.
